Useful SCI Email Addresses
The SCI Institute provides a set of specific email addresses for requesting certain services such as booking conference rooms, making travel arrangements and requesting computer or network support. They are listed throughout internal web pages, and the most common ones are mentioned here for convenience.
First and most important - please do not send an email that involves any of these instances to just one person. Sending your request to a list will guarantee you get answers faster--as the individual person might be busy or even out of office.
If you wish to contact our IT department with questions or to discuss an IT related issue, including but not limited to system design or hardware recommendation (before placing an order), please use this address.
If you are requesting a specific IT service or support such as a need to have something fixed, installed or modified, please use this address. It generates a support ticket that helps IT keep track of tasks and to complete them in a timely manner.

This email should be used for anything to do with the conference rooms, such as: reserving a conference room, help with your meeting, including a test call which we recommend for meetings that include people outside of SCI. It is absolutely necessary to have a test session so there are no misunderstandings or glitches. This includes dissertation defenses, seminars, regular meetings where people are calling in, and anything else that involves things you are not familiar with. If you want somebody to be there for your meeting you have to ask ahead of time.

This is for questions with regard to travel. Use this address for requesting help with your travel, to let us know that you are traveling but you have already booked your flights, to let us know that you filled out the travel form if you don’t get a response right away, or anything that involves travel in any way. We need to know you’re traveling to put your request into Concur. If you have questions about Concur or travel, let us know.

If you need to order anything and you have all specification (like design of desktop or server components), you need to send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. If you don’t hear anything about your order within a reasonable time, please follow up with us. Please include all details in your email - i.e. any links that are helpful, the account to charge it to, and if it needs to be approved by someone, please copy them on the email. This saves a lot of time and ensures that your order will be placed in a timely manner.
