Tenure Track Position, Scientific Computing, CWI, Amsterdam

Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) invites postdoctoral researchers
to apply for a tenure track position in scientific computing within
the Multiscale Dynamics group.  We particularly invite qualified women
to apply.

Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague, with an expertise in
scientific computing, specifically applied to physical, chemical or
engineering problems on a micro- to mesoscopic scale, with time
dependent partial differential equations and/or Monte Carlo
methods. You should bring a strong expertise in computational methods,
and be interested to contribute to research on sustainable energy
supply which is now one of the five strategic themes at CWI and a top
sector in Dutch science policy.

You will become member of the Multiscale Dynamics group
<http://www.cwi.nl/research-groups/Multiscale-Dynamics> that presently
mostly focuses on modelling plasmas in thunderstorm related discharges
as well as in high voltage engineering and applied nonequilibrium
plasma physics; some of these topics are relevant to energy
research. You will collaborate with the PhD students and the staff
members on computational issues, and you can either join our plasma
research or develop your own collaborations and application
fields. This will also depend on the funding that you (on your own or
together with colleagues) can find for attracting and supervising PhD
students.
