High Performance Computing Center

The High Performance Computing Center from the The Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering, The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (NACAD-COPPE/UFRJ) is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to develop massively parallel uncertainty quantification algorithms for seismic imaging. The Center, recognized as a leading institution in HPC in Brazil, being part of the worldwide Intel IPCC's centers (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-parallel-computing-centers), conducts interdisciplinary research in computational science and engineering with applications mainly in Energy, Life and Computer Science (http://www.nacad.ufrj.br/en/informacoes/projects).

The appointment is for a fixed term of 24 months. The offer is competitive and in accordance with Brazilian standards and the cost of living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio de Janeiro will host in 2014 FIFA's World Cup and in 2016 The Summer Olympics. Rio de Janeiro is today's one of the hottest places to be on the Oil and Gas industry.
