Postdoctoral Research Position in Computational Methods for Seismic Imaging

We anticipate multiple post-doctoral positions applying numerical methods and high- performance computing techniques to seismic imaging. Ideal candidates will have extensive applied experience in many-core programming for instance GPU programming with OpenCL. Key aspects of the research include developing, analyzing, implementing and testing high- order local radiation boundary conditions suitable for vertical transverse isotropy and tilted transverse isotropy elastic models used in industrial seismic inversion. Successful candidates will almost certainly have a comprehensive understanding of high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods, and related schemes for time-dependent wave modeling. The project will involve collaboration on an industrial project.

Each position will be for one year initially, with possibility of one additional year as funding permits. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science and Engineering or similar.
