The Scalable Computing Laboratory (http://www.cse.psu.edu/research/scl) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Penn State invites outstanding candidates to apply for a postdoctoral position in high performance computing. The successful candidate will conduct research on topics related to: (i) the design of scalable sparse matrix and graph algorithms and their applications to scientific data mining, and (ii) performance modeling and optimization including resilience, and performance and power scalability of supercomputing systems.
This position is aimed at candidates looking to be a part of a vibrant and growing community of graduate students and faculty with interests in computation and data enabled interdisciplinary research through the Institute for CyberScience at Penn State (http://www.ics.psu.edu/ ).
Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related
discipline with a background in computational modeling and simulation. Necessary qualifications and skills include an in-depth knowledge of parallel computing and experience with programming in parallel using libraries such as MPI, OpenMP and CUDA. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong research record, outstanding research potential and the ability to work interactively with graduate students and interdisciplinary groups of researchers.
